History

The city of Wah has its history with the Mughal Empire as the name, as described by several historians, was given to the city by Mughal Emperor Jehangir who was very impressed by the beauty and scenery of the area when he first visited here. The arrival of the Mughals had a significant impact on the village's and surrounding area's architecture, which can still be seen today, especially in the Wah Gardens. In addition to the neighboring Pakistan Ordnance Factory complex, which includes 20 factories or industrial units producing artillery, tanks, and anti-aircraft ammunition for the Pakistan Armed Forces, some of the most well-known locations in Wah Cantt include the Wah Ordnance Club and POF hotel.
